A very gay death

There are some things in life that one hopes would remain sacred, to keep the spirit of what it was in good order. But sadly, that is not the case. Of the many Play Station games I have enjoyed over the years, none touched my giggle button faster than medievil. This late 90's release was popular and had good graphics for its time, now just a faded memory in ones collection of old games.
But while looking for something to poke fun at, I hoped to God Medievil wouldn't be on the list. Too bad! This isn't such a bad piece of writing, and I'm sure that if I keep reading it, it might turn out to be rather interesting. But, sadly so, the story has a number of writing glitches in it that make it very... odd. Not that strange ideals don't suit Medievil, it is just the way it is written. I'll let you decide on what you read of it and what I post here.

'Xavier warily pushed herself through the iron gate of Sir Daniel Fortesque’s tomb, unfortunately not seeing the first step. She painfully tumbled down the stairs, sprawling out across the stone bottom.'
The opening paragraph on it's own shows that sentence structure is not this suethors way of doing things. After reading this, I had the vision of a some twit girl forcing herself through a metal door (somehow) and because their attention was diverted, missed the first step, went down stairs and landed on a stone backside.

'Steel-gray eyes swept over her surroundings, taking in every inch of the dingy atmosphere. Xavier swept of to the left corridor, peeking her head through as she raised and eyebrow in curiosity.'
Whether the original owner of the eys is alive or not remains unknown. Why she is using them for sweeping a burial chamber is also not entirely clear. While the game shows the place does need some maintenance, I don't think a pair of eyes (that aren't in your skull) would be of much use in repairing the place.

'Sir Dan,
I’m terribly sorry to inform you that that evil sorcerer Zarok is back yet again and my assistant, Xavier, needs your help to defeat him. Please be a dear and help her.
Sincerely,
Death
Two things caught my attention here. The tones of death's speech gave me the impression he had taken up drag for a hobby. The second is that the Hero of Gallowmere (pre-London) is no longer the hero, but the side-kick. I guess skeletons with no jaw aren't very good hero material. But, if you have played the game (to full extent) you will know that Daniel is given the title of Hero, established for eternity in the Hall of Heroes, and the common word in all of this is HERO! Not Xavier, not anyone else, HIM ALONE!

Now, I did say that the story seamed to be worth reading, and I stick by that, despite its over amounts of sueishness. I am not entirely sure if it will work out properly, or if it is even finished, but sure enough I will read it in my own time.
