New York was nice and all and he had been to this place once or twice, but he never really did the things that the normal people would have done and now he had his chance. With a smile on his face he had switched on the feed to show his face.]

Isn't Kyoto interesting? I heard a ( Read more... )

Commoners?

[Whoa, that really didn't set well just now. He's encountered a lot of snobs in his past and while he was in the orphanage, they often treated him like a wild animal. This guy...]

What are you, some sort of royalty?

Not royalty no, but we're very well off... or was until I ended up here over a year ago.

Sounds like you need a new buzz word 'cuz that one really started a hornet's nest. Since you're honest, I'll let that slide.

[Not to mention that he didn't hear anything malicious in the other's tone so he'll let it go.]

Seein' that you're stuck here like the rest of us, maybe you should refrain usin' that word.

Sorry, it's a force of habit I'm trying to get out of. Though I don't mean it in bad terms, after all I kind of admire them and the way they go about things unlike what I did. It's fascinating.

[Well, by now Ryuutaro had gotten used to all this 'commoners'-things Kaoru said and he was in a good mood, too, so he would not even start getting offended. Especially as his family, as he had still lived with them, had been rather well-off, too.]

It's a wonderful city, right?
And you've really never done Hatsumode? What a pity...

It is, though I don't remember doing much the last time I had been here, well except the usual which I did back home as well.

[Pulling pranks, you know the usual. Kaoru just shook his head slightly.]

Nope, our parents would usually come but then were too busy to do anything with us, so we would usually spend our time here playing indoors.

My father was rather the opposite. When I still lived at home, he would not let me go out much usually, but on New Years day the shrine visit was not to be avoided.

What do co...I mean people do at the shrines. I heard a few things, but never really did it myself.

[Shrines? It caught his attention for sure. But he doubted it was anything to do with the Order...even so.. The feed flickers as he gives a firm nod.]

[The one thing Kaoru cannot help but wonder is...he didn't know these things could even flicker. Curious he held the device closer, trying to figure out exactly what just happened.]

Kyoto's so beautiful in the winter, if you ask me!

What do you normally do for New Years, by the way?

I just spend it at home with my brother. My parents usually go out themselves for it, but me and Hikaru celebrate at home.

Oh! Well! That's not all too different from what everyone else does! [Wait for it, Ran...]

Is it not really that different. From what I heard people do other things.
