Her tail was moving side to side, a thin sail going down the uper and lower portion down to her fin. Three small gills were on either side of her neck, and anyone looking closely would notice her fingers were delicately webbed ( Read more... )

[the cheeky smirk can be heard in his voice]

Because you'd drown otherwise.

[It's a moment before she responds, her annoyance clear in her tone.]

Thank you for stating the obvious.

Are things like this common? Waking up as...unnatural things.

That's ridiculous. Has no one tried to talk to this author person, even the most spoiled child can be reasoned with.

The author was bored seems to be the most likely answer.

Well, she can get unbored as far as I'm concerned. I'm not a toy for her to play with.

Until we can find a way out of here, you kind of are her toy, like the rest of us.

[Rick woke up this morning surprised to find he is underwater and...well he's at least half octopus. This revelation should have been more traumatic, but he's adapting well to rolling with what the Author throws at him.

Evidently, the person a couple of rooms down the hall isn't taking things so well. He takes a few moments to figure out how to move around...how to open the door. He heads over to the source of the noise, though now it's quiet, and knocks.]

Ma'am? Is everything alright?

[It's a few moments before the door opens, revealing a red-headed woman with a thin silk robe over her otherwise naked upper half. She's already frustrated by having to be here, she could have done without waking up as the seafood platter.]

No. Everything is not alright.

[Pausing for a moment, her attention is drawn to his tentacles...oh for heavens sake, could this get any more ridiculous?]

'Course not. What I meant t'say is, can I help you with anything?

[He offers a reassuring smile, she's going to be difficult, and looking the way he does isn't going to help things any. He makes it a point to keep his attention on her face, a trick he learned while he was a deputy. He's respectful and genuine.]

I apologize for my appearance it seems as though the Author, has decided to play with us again this week.

Unless you can turn me back the way I'm supposed to be, no. And considering that you look like something out of a bad storybook, I severely doubt that's in your power.

[his smile did next to nothing to calm her. She was still upset, most people waking up like this would be. Besides, she wasn't used to this author person.]

The doctor mentioned something about her. I can't believe there's no way around this though. I will not be played with like I'm little more than a toy.
