[Balthier appears to be taking it easy in his room. It does seem kind of sad to let go of them again, but knowing the Author's ways nothing else can be expected.

I can't see where the sense would lie in getting attached, author or not. But they certainly do have a certain charm which could make it very easy to. [he's had allies in and out, with only a few he's been saddened to part with.]

I think they could be excellent partners over the time.

[Especially as his chosen pokemon is a kind of a shark, Ryuutaro is reminded of his beloved partner Pisces, which happens to be a spinning top, but -hey- in his world that's normal]

But speculating about it won't be of much use.
