Well, this seems to be a strange occurrence. I appear to have found myself far away from the hotel I fell asleep in ( Read more... )

They're called blackberries. Don't ask me why, I've no clue. [She's reaching up to absently pet at Chime, who is curled around her neck like some sort of demented necklace.] You probably wouldn't believe the truth of it if I told you- I can assure you that it sounds quite mad.

Sorry, space cadet is spacey. Video? psychic_labrat September 4 2011, 06:16:38 UTC
*charming, relieved smile*

Believe me, I've heard quite a few things lately that most would categorize as mad. The very fact that I am here is enough to make me keep an open mind.

As far as I can tell, we're in the story of some overpowered, scarcely-controlled ambient mage whose power expresses itself through writing. Worse, she's not particularly good at her craft. [Charming smile has no effect on Tris!]

That's absolutely fascinating. So it is some kind of alter dimension? *he starts pacing in his room*

This'll be the least strange thing you come across here. Enjoy it while it lasts. [Don't you love an optimist.]

If this is only a hint of what is to come then I'm sure I will enjoy it. *Yeah, except this one is truly excited*

[...You're so weird]

Unless you die.

That seems a little extreme. I've done a rather remarkable job of not dying so far in my life.

[Saguru is far too used to giving the welcome speech by now... also still a little worn out from the Titanic.]

Welcome to the Manor. I'm sure this may sound quite insane, but from all the evidence we have so far, everyone here except the talking rabbit outside has been kidnapped from their own worlds and times by some unknown teenage girl who is only aware of all of us as fictional characters; you're correct that the Blackberry connects to a communication network. The good news is that the Author is not actively malicious as far as I can tell, nor is she as bad as she could be, the bad news is she has a fondness for dramatics and is basically a small child with an ant farm.

If you'd gotten here a little earlier you'd have been treated to a re-enactment of the sinking of the Titanic. [This is a very long-suffering deadpan that is almost too used to this crap by now.]

*is quiet for a moment as he digest this. Alternate dimensions is one thing. He's seen some incredible powers and considering his own situation he's not the type to discount the possibility.

Reenacting history on the other hand, and this young man sounding so tired about it as if the terror of sinking thousands of miles from home in the icy chill is somehow normal... That is unsettling*

I see. Thank you from taking time out of your recovery to assist the new guy.

[That's about where he realizes that he was letting the frazzled show.]

Ah, apologies. It's no trouble at all really, and if you have any questions, it's quiet and peaceful for now; we've found that it's better for everyone's safety to make sure people have - at least some idea what's going on as soon as possible, besides just common courtesy and us all being stuck in the same boat.

[And there's a small grimace as he realizes what he just said.] Most of the "changes of scenery" from what you seem now seem to be mock-ups - mimicries of whatever's caught her interest, although it doesn't make the north Atlantic any less cold, or zombie hordes any less of a problem. About the one saving grace for sanity is that for some reason, death isn't permanent here; unpleasant, horrible, and still to be avoided, but... people do come back. I wish I could explain how it works, but - whatever bizarre corner of quantum metaphysics she's abusing isn't my specialty at all.

*there is so much he could be replying to that he doesn't quite know where to start. He has so many questions*

I'd say it wasn't possible, but I can't exactly argue with you if you have seen it happen. Would it be too much to ask that we meet in person?

[Having heard someone talking quite happily to themselves (so it seems), Elphaba opens her door, and notices Charles. Aaah, he was posting to the network. That explained the talking at least..]

You probably won't like any answers you get

*he turns, not seeming at all surprised at her entrance*

Well, I daresay there are some I probably won't be too fond of, but I imagine that comes with the territory when you wake up in a strange place.

I'm Charles Xavier, it's a pleasure to meet you...?

*he has an easy smile, and his tone is friendly rather than mocking*

[Hers, in turn, seems somewhat guarded]

..Elphaba

[Where has she heard that name before..]

(ooc: lmao well, for right now I'll just go for surface thoughts since I don't know a whole lot about her)

Elphaba. What a beautiful name. *he puts away his phone and steps over to her, offering his hand. He's clearly quite interested*

Well, this isn't a very nice hotel if it was. I can't seem to find a way out.

That is very true, though it seems largely nicer than my hotel at any rate.

What do you mean there's no way out?

I've tried looking, but this place seems a little... odd. It's kind of annoying.

I imagine soon. Would you mind explaining? Surely there's some kind of door.
