[Had Light not already known about the Author's non-specific approach, he would have been more surprised to hear yet another younger voice over the network. ...Well, "non-specific" would be a misnomer. The Author did have certain trends: a greater preponderance for teenaged male subjects for one, overpowered idiots for another, but. Digression.
From the request for the police, Light surmises that this newcomer obviously did not have any kind of innate supernatural ability. But there's something almost uncomfortably familiar about this broadcast. Naomi Misora had made a similar message upon arrival, hadn't she? Well, as this kid is obviously not Misora, Light writes off the cognitive association as meaningless; he probably thought he had been kidnapped. This would be a joy to explain. He clicks on the video. ]
I know this is unusual, but try to stay calm. You aren't in any immediate danger.
[Taro jumps a little when someone actually responds, not to mention when there is actually a face on the screen. Though it is to be expected with a call for help that someone will answer, the boy's nerves are frayed and he's one step away from panic.Yet there is something of a relief when he sees that this stranger looks Japaneshe's really hoping
Swallowing awkwardly he responds, still in audio. Just like with the detectives who had appeared at his house, Taro doesn't know this man's intentions - even if he seems helpful. He needs to play it safe until he can be sure.]
Not in danger? Thats g-good [He's awkward right off the bat, failing in his attempt remain calm. He tries clearing his throat.] ...But thats not exactly why I need to talk to the police. I need to tell them something right away.
[Now this gets Light's attention, as however irrational it may be, those pesky Misora flashbacks have resurfaced, putting him on greater alert than he cares to be on. All in all, the prickly sensation of deja vu is at best annoying, but not to be taken seriously. A not-so-amusing coincidence, trick of fate, Author being her usual charmless self- any euphemism would suffice

[NPA?? So he IS from Japan - and if for some reason he is lying, he still knows something about the Japanese police. This may be Taro's best bet because looking around it doesn't look like he's going to get a whole lot of other options. At least this guy looks decent enough.
But due to his excitement - rather - his high expectations given his excellent luck at running into this man, Taro starts to get a little sloppy in how guarded he should be.]
Really?? Then...then maybe you heard about all of those heart attacks? [Hopeful]
A detective.... [he murmurs to himself. Yes. This could be helpful...but only if the detective already knows about the heart attacks. And about the dead students...and for that she'd have to be from the right department.] ...Are you from Tokyo?
I don't really need a doctor, I'm not injured. [He's trying not to be rude, as best as his mother has managed to teach him, but he doesn't know any of these people and the audio acts as a double-edged sword. It disguises himself, but it also disguises the people talking to him.]
Not 'A' Doctor. The Doctor. Completely different- though I am good with first aid.
Now then- I think the first thing I should tell you is that, no, you're not in Japan anymore. Next is that you probably-very likely, actually, aren't even in your universe. Bit of a scary thought really but not near as scary as the sudden realization that you've been kidnapped.
A man who refers to himself as "THE Doctor" (as apparently 'a' was incorrect) is now telling him that he is neither in Japan or even Earth as it were....
This situation does NOT put him at ease, and its not the "not in your universe" rhetoric that concerns him the most.]
Then where are you from?
[Whether or not he thinks this man is dangerous rests on the man's next answer,]
[Uhwow...probably the prettiest girl who has ever spoken to him, or even noticed him. He feels that nervousness go up two-fold...that is until she starts sounding as crazy as "The Doctor" guy.]
...um...an Otaku? [How is he even supposed to try and take that seriously? Was she picking on him? It wouldn't be the first time.]
O-okay, Misa..misa... [He is definitely out of his element here but here it goes]
Wouldn't a crazy otaku kidnapping people be a good reason to call the police? [Even without the death note it would seem like a reason to be concerned.]

[ Here is Misa. A cute idol whose age is difficult to guess with just one look. ]
Well... Misa is not the police but she can help.
We've been kidnapped from our worlds by a crazy otaku! She won't let us go home until she wants us to. What else do you want to know?

Yes. And Misa is very serious too.
So there is no need to call the police--- what is your name? My name is Misa Amane. You can call me Misamisa!
