[He flinches as he sees the body, then his face hardens, swallowing his reaction. Young. Nearly his age, and it's - he feels like he's in Chammur again, with the dead caught in the roots of plants. Almost convulsively, Briar sweeps his hands out, clearing the plants from around Kaoru's body, leaving him on bare earth. He doesn't want to be reminded of that time just now.]
