Snark 018: Snape [In Person]

[Listen closely, and you'll hear the swish and billow of robes and the scuff of shoes on dusty floors as Snape strolls down the halls.  He holds his lit want aloft, and every now and then he flicks it and a sphere of light drifts off his wand point to hover in the air.  They don't provide much light, but it's better than the darkened, powerless

[Tom has his heavy duty police issue flashlight turned on and pointing down the hall. Only a few of his batteries survived the rot this place is suffering only because he put then in his sock drawer and out of the humidity's threatening grasp.]

Who's there?

[It's clear he's pretty tense from pulling these late night shifts again.]

[Snape brandishes his wand at the voice, the tip alit. The pale light dances over the corridor walls and onto Tom.]

Oh. It's you. What are you doing here?

[junior_cop]

[He lowers the light from Snape to acknowlege the other.]

I'm just making sure that everyone's safe. It's the boring part of my job. Are you doing the same or are you looking for more stable rooms? The attic isn't stable, unfortunately. If we get a storm, it's only going to get worse.

No. I'm looking for more permanent lights. These orbs aren't going to last forever [he gestures to the magic spheres of light behind him], but I can't find any candles. I had no intention of looking for better rooms. I'm sure this house can hold itself up.
