Cup 016: Iroh [In Person]

[In the kitchen, sitting in a chair by the window, sits a boy.  He has black hair, and golden eyes, and his hair is held up in a topknot.  His clothes are red and gold, the fine clothes of the Fire Nation royalty.

The boy Iroh sighs, content, as he looks out the window.]

What a rare gift this is.

[Tom walks into the kitchen to makes some nachos, which is now pretty much a weekly thing for him or at the most three times a week. He spots the boy and pops the bowl of cheese and chips in the microwave.]

Looks like you're enjoying this.

[He smiles.]

[Iroh turns to the boy. It takes him a moment to recognize him, but he does after a moment.]

I am. What other chance would I have to revist my lost youth? Not that being old is at all bad, but this is a nice break.

[He pushes himself off from the chair and lands on the floor.]

How are you dealing with it?

[Tom's eyes widen. It was nice to see someone happy despite the issues that surround them.]

I'm doing okay, I guess. It's not too bad but it's harder to reach things.

[And no, he's not going to admit that he leaves the top shelves intentionally empty at his own apartment.]

[He shrugs.]

I suppose it is. But I'll take the energy and fire of youth over height for now. And at least we still have our older minds.

[Gokudera was in the kitchen looking for materials to make a makeshift explosive... if he wanted to break that barrier thing he was going to need more then what he had.

Now... lets see... dish soap could be used as a substitute for one of the chemicals he needed... but how the fuck was he supposed to reach the dish soap as an eight year old? Then he hears what he assumes is the other kid in the room call it a gift.]

Gift my ass! I look like a dork, I can't reach the friggin' counter, and I have to find the way out of this shit-hole!

[In his irritation he pulls out a cigarette and lights it]

[Iroh turns to the kid who spoke. He doesn't look at all familiar.]

Hello there. You must be new here.

[He jumps down from the chair and bows to the kid.]

I am Iroh. What's your name?

[Gokudera's brows nit together as he looks over Iroh questioningly, honestly caught off guard causing him to leave out his usual qualms about giving out his name]

Gokudera...

[Realizing what he had done he quickly goes back on the defense]

Have you been here long? It's a very confusing place, to say the least.

[Eight year old Allen, hair brown, mark that he usually had gone and his left arm back to being red rather than black is peeking his head into the kitchen, still paranoid at the thought that the Order is here somewhere watching him to make a mistake.]

[Iroh turns from the window and smiles at the young Allen.]

How are you?

[Allens quickly hides behind the door, before poking his head back in slightly.]

I'm fine.

[Iroh gestures for Allen to come closer.]

Come in, then. Don't be shy. I'm the same as before, just younger. Though I suppose the same can be said for all of us.
