Headquarters badfic_mods November 27 2010, 19:25:34 UTC
[On the shores of the lake, far from the Manor proper. This is where the attack plans are administered. Those who will direct the battle strategies from outside of the battle will stay here. There is a tent pitched up on the sand to protect our generals from the cold wind, and inside the tent is a table with Eddie's map of the Manor on it, along with a single communal blackberry set on speaker phone, available for anyone out in the heat of the battle to call and ask for guidance.]

[Iroh was one of the generals in the headquarters. He paced the table, studying the map, frowning. It was time to be the Dragon of the West again, the feared general who had nearly conquered Ba Sing Se after six hundred days.

He looked to the blackberry on the table, waiting for reports.]

[The Manorites in this division have struck out on their own or in pairs to scout ahead, sneaking into the Manor and reporting to Headquarters what the Kishins are up to. These Manorites will not attack Kishins, but their job is very dangerous. If they are caught trying to pick up on the Kishins' movements, they will likely be killed.

All of the blackberries have been set to speed-dial headquarters at the press of the spacebar button, thanks to our generals' good planning.]

Sheldon was getting ready to make his move toward the Manor. One of the most important parts of the job was to make sure that everyone knew the numbers and the force they were up against. Dressed in black, the cover of darkness was his best asset. Armed with only a knife strapped to the small of his back and laying across for easy access, he could only perform very fast hit and run tactics for the time being. He hoped that it wouldn't come to fighting.

Going over a mental checklist in his mind while making sure he had everything situated, he made sure that he was prepared before he took his place at the edge of camp.

Natsuo refused to fight, but he was stealthy, so he was going to keep everyone aware of things. He kept to higher places so he could see as much as he could, but away from the kishin too. He kept quite so that he could hear all he could and be aware of what was around him. He was doing good so far.

The patrol route was simple - even if the center-stop wasn't exactly where it'd be expected...

There really wasn't a better vantage point to predict where cover would be needed than the roof, and even if he couldn't leap to it like Sable could, it was an easy enough climb that he wasn't far behind.

[The Manorites in this (small) division are the heart of the entire mission. They are making their way toward the third floor of the Manor, toward Albert Fish and the Bunny. Their job is to face Fish and kill him, in order to behead the Kishin regime and take back the Manor. A group of these Manorites will also go to save the Bunny while Fish is distracted. These Manorites would be better off if they were in Meister/Weapon groups so that they can defend themselves properly, but their job is not to kill every Kishin they see. On the other hand, a Kishin who sees this group sneaking about and gets out alive will be likely to tell Fish, and then the Kishins will be on this group like a hoarde ( ... )

This was what Nice had been waiting for, so, once given the word, she was in. She was prepared for any eventuality; now all that was left to do was fight and see.

Kaito wasn't too far behind. He also figured it was also best to be ready for pretty much anything. After what he'd studied up on er... that guy, he knew full well that he was just as valid a target as Conan was, being under 18 and all, so it was for the best that the two of them were weapon and meister for this plot.

For the moment though, they needed to work on getting to Albert-san. All he and Conan had to do was keep their heads down and let the heavy hitters do the work unless they had to defend themselves. He could do that.

[While the thread below is happening, the other members of the rescue team will get this text message from Kaito.]

Albert-san's out of the room. Sticking with Conan.

[I think that's the cue for someone to go get the Plot Bunny and quick.]

A Diversion! badfic_mods November 27 2010, 19:40:57 UTC
[The brave Manorites in this division are not attempting to get to the Bunny or even to face Albert Fish. They are fighting in the heat of the battle against a thousand Kishins, trying to distract or kill all of them so that the Manorites making their way to the Bunny aren't swamped by attackers. This the by far the bloodiest division: if you are here, you are ready and willing to kill or be killed - or both. Manorites here should be part of a Meister/Weapon group, as ONLY a weapon is capable of killing (rather than maiming) a Kishin.

All of the blackberries have been set to speed-dial headquarters at the press of the spacebar button, thanks to our generals' good planning.]

Inside the manor, on the first floor, there was a Weapon/Meister team holed up in the pantry, trying to catch a break.

It wasn't that this wasn't the sort of thing Soma was used to, the problem was the Manor and grounds were much more dense than he was used to, and they'd kinda managed to get any retreat cut off too - he could go bat form, but he couldn't carry Claudia that way in either form, and his teleport-dodges had a pretty short range.

By this point, if Claudia hadn't known before he had a large amount of vampire traits, she would now, too.

"How're you holding up?"

Claudia's reflection shines up at him. She looks paler than usual and grips her arm awkwardly. "I'll be alright," she told him, trying to be as convincing as possible.

That worries him - they've been managing, but this's turning into more of a running battle than even he's used to. "We might need to get out of here and get help-"

Except then there's more noise from outside - and a scent that gets his attention immediately, especially since the constant fighting's had him edging the less human line.

"Was that - are there other people here?"

ALBERT FISH [You've unlocked the secret level!!] badfic_mods November 28 2010, 05:09:45 UTC
[As the courageous Manorites fight for the Manor, a path has been cleared for the valiant rescue team to make their way to Albert Fish. They've sneaked and battled their way through three large Manor floors and now, finally, they have made their way to the storage room on the third floor. Inside the room is nothing but a caged Plot Bunny and Albert Fish himself ( ... )

Conan took a deep calming breath before pushing the door open. He'd played the bait before but he'd never faced a pedophile while stuck in the small body that he currently had. He'd be fine. If all else failed he had his kick shoes and Kuroba and the others would come to his rescue if things got out of hand.

He closed his eyes to gather the look of a curious, innocent little boy before pushing the door open slowly-he couldn't act like he knew what he was doing, after all. He moved into the room and made sure to leave the door open a crack. He didn't want a door handle to become between him and his rescue team if things got really bad.

He fixed Fish with a child-like innocent expression as he stepped farther into the lion's den.

"Ojisan? What are you doing here?"

["Uncle", the little boy called him. How sweet, how friendly, how charming. That cute little boy with those big eyes. Instantly a ghostly smell comes to the Kishin's nose: meat. Not just any meat, either. No, cows and chickens don't taste like the fat behind of a child. Fish smiles; his teeth are long, sharp and serrated, like small butcher knives. When he speaks he sounds very kindly, with his lower-class urban American accent.]

"I live here. My name is Uncle Albert. What shall I call you, dear boy?"

Kaito of course, wasn't too far behind Conan. He just kept to the shadows, out of sight and just outside of the door for now. He's keeping a close eye on Conan and the room, wary for Albert-san or his minions trying anything. He really doesn't like this, but he figures they'll be fine between the two of them and with the others near by.

For now, he stays utterly silent and watches.
