Plot Post: Fairy Tale Week

Sep 19, 2011 00:48

This week is the first week of a two-week plot! The manor has been transformed into a large castle and grounds; there's a wall around the castle, stables with horses, and basically all the trappings of a very pretty and overdone fantasy castle. The outbuildings have been converted accordingly; they're part of the grounds inside the wall, but have been converted to equivalents appropriate to the setting. (Yes, Dean, your car is now a horse.) The gardens and assorted grounds of that sort are also now within the wall. Outside the wall, the forest, desert, beach, etc. are all still present, although the shop is period-appropriate as well now. There's also monsters now out there - just about anything fantasy-setting appropriate of a monster can be run into outside the walls, in its appropriate terrain-type.

Everyone's wardrobes and belongings have been tweaked a little plot-appropriate as well; your normal clothes are being temporarily replaced with faux-rennaisance wear! The Blackberries are the only technological devices that are staying as they are, besides there being showers and bathrooms with running water. There's a few faceless-NPC servants flitting around doing housekeeping chores and the like, as well as small fairies that will come in and out of the castle; the fairies don't talk, and are basically mischievously annoying but not dangerous. Firearms become archaic versions or other sorts of ranged weapons, and other technological devices get bumped back a few centuries or disappear altogether for the week; feel free to ask us if there's any questions about this! If it could reasonably somehow seem like something you'd see in a high-fantasy setting, it can stay as is.

Nonhuman characters stay as is for the -MOST- part - cyborgs, robots, etc. get turned more human for this.

As mentioned, there is a princess, who gets a nice tower room and a few extra..."perks".

THE PRINCESS: KANDA. CONGRATULATIONS, KANDA! Your sword is still there, but for some reason you can't actually draw it, nor will any attack-type powers work! In addition, you now have mildly fluffy-brainless NPC servants doting on you constantly, small birds and animals following you around being adorable and helpful, and your entire wardrobe has been replaced with fancy dresses. Many of them pink and fluffy.

Also, for those raiding the kitchens, the fairies are messing with the food for the duration of this plot; not all of the food is being tampered with - you CAN have perfectly normal meals for most of the week if you want - but it'll be Russian Roulette under MUN control; characters will never know when they might find something that'll have ... side effects as listed below. If you want to inflict it on your character, you can either pick one from the list below or RNG it.

All food effects last for 24 to 48 hours, duration at MUN discretion:

1 - Love spell - fall in love with the next person you see! This won't make you act "out of character" per se; how you'll act will be about how your character would normally handle a strong attraction/infatuation/attachment with someone.

2 - Transformation - You are now some kind of small critter, MUN's choice, and utterly harmless.

3 - Happiness - The world is wonderful and beautiful and EVERYONE IS YOUR FRIEND and - yeah, have fun with the obnoxious glee and joy at everything.

4 - Sadness - Everything's horrible. The world is doomed. You have become Eeyore.

5 - Truth spell - You can only speak the truth - like during the plot week, you may be prone to blurting out things you didn't mean to even if you're trying to keep your mouth shut or if you're trying to avoid it somehow.

6 - Supervillainy - Ego multiplied times ten, morals halved or worse. No special powers added.

7 - Floating - gravity is no longer on speaking terms with you; you're floating about a foot or two above the ground at all times. You can't walk on the air, either; you get to push off walls and the like to get around.

8 - Hair color change - Your hair is now something obnoxious and loud!

9 - Age toggle - if your character was a child, their body is now adult; if they're an adult, they're now physically a child. Mind left alone, just a body toggle.

10 - Intoxication - you are now drunk/stoned off your ass, no matter what it was you'd just eaten/drank.

The weather for the week will be clear and sunny with scattered clouds for most of the week, with more foreboding clouds showing up on the weekend.
