[The Blackberry displays a bit of interference when Ran switches it on for the first time. The girl appears, taking a tentative nibble out of her soft pretzel, salted and glistening with butter. She looks like she's about to comment to whoever is out there watching, but her eyes blink in surprise and she looks at the pretzel]

[Conan is torn between relief and worry- he's glad that Ran's safe, but not okay with the fact that she's here as well.]

C-Conan-kun! [Ran's tone is a mix of both scolding and relief.] You're safe, thank goodness!

[Conan displays his surroundings on the Blackberry- around him, there is a carousel, candy floss stands, and in the distance, something that looks like a ferris wheel.] I'm not exactly sure. Everywhere looks the same. [He beams] I know! Ran-neechan! We can meet up at the ferris wheel It stands out more!

[Ran looks much more relaxed at this point, and she smiles brightly in return.]

Great idea! I'll meet you at the ferris wheel then! At the ticket booth?

Yeah! I'll be there as fast as I can!

[It takes a while due to the troublesome form of his child-sized body, but Conan eventually arrives at the ticket booth and scrutinizes the crowd carefully for any sign of Ran.]

[Keeping her phone on, just in case, Ran polishes off her pretzel and starts running toward the ferris wheel. Ran finally switches off her phone and diverts her attention to the crowd when she arrives.]

Conan-kun? [She cups her hand around her mouth in hopes of her voice traveling further.]

[Conan hears Ran's voice loud and clear, and takes off in its direction quickly. So fast, in fact, that he bumps into someone's legs as he does so.]

Ran-neechan-- oof!

[Action]

[Ran lets out a startled gasp when she saw the boy run straight into the legs of some stranger. She hurried over to make sure he didn't have any injuries, and looked in the direction of the person he bumped into.]

Hey! Watch where you're going! You could have hurt a little kid like him!

[The NPC looks taken aback and begins to argue about "The kid running too fast"...]

Ah, Ran-neechan, he's right. I was trying to look for you and I wasn't watching where I was going...

[Ran offers Conan her hand and helps him up.]

Well, in that case, try to watch where you're going, okay?

[She nervously bows a few times at the NPC in hopes that he'll walk away.]

[Following Ran's example, Conan apologised to the NPC in waht he hoped was a sincerely apologetic tone. Seemingly satisfied, the NPC walks away, vanishing into the crowd.]

[Ran turns back to Conan, her face much brighter now that she's found him.]

I saw that Hakuba-san is here. Remember him? Have you met anyone else we know?

[Ran blinks in surprise.]

Hattori-kun is here? Now that's just strange, isn't it...

[Her eyes widen and she gasps.] Y-you don't think someone brought us here to solve a...a murder that hasn't happened yet, do you?!

[Ran starts to wring her hands, looking around.] Come to think of it, this place is an awful lot like Paradise Land, isn't it...? [There's a strong sense of fear in her voice. She hates that feeling of being in a situation completely out of her control.]

Why is it stra-- [Conan cuts himself off, and then continues, his voice hiding just a touch of bemusement.] I don't think so. Heiji-niichan and Saguru-niichan aren't that incapable of solving a murder, at least, they don't take months.

[He grimaced when Ran mentioned Paradise Land, but tried to hide it with a bright smile.] Don't worry, Ran-neechan! I'll protect you! Besides, this isn't what the Mansion normally looks like.

[Ran offered Ran a weary smile. She didn't have it in her to dash the boy's cheery optimism.]

Did you want to go on the Ferris Wheel, Conan-kun?

[At the very least, it would give her an opportunity to recollect herself, and at the top of the wheel, she could get a better lay of the land.]
