It's a home run! From behind, Lucas swings again and an odd ringing sound echoes through the air with each blow he makes. Blow after blow lands on the insect until, on the seventh combo, he blows the rhythm and the bug gets a hit in.]

[ She's still flailing, trying to land a kick on the dumb mantis... Rika really hates to look so stupid. ]

Are you well? They are not bothering you as well, are they?

[Lucas is totally a hypocrite in that he calls everyone 'miss', but oh, well.]

I think they're bothering everyone in town. They're not very hard to defeat, though. You just have to to hit the right places...

[This is punctuated by Lucas getting up and smashing the preying mantis again in a leg joint.]

[ Rika watches. Admittedly, she thinks Lucas is pretty cool... and she doesn't want to look silly in comparison. So she swings another kick up at the mantis' pincers so that it lets her go. ]

You mean the joints? Like with eating crab?

[Yet another Big Damn Heroes moment in his resume. Guess who's just landed a blow on that mantis jerk with his sword?]

[ And the ceremonial hoe is dropped... falling with it, Rika. She screams, naturally, and grabs the mantis' dull arm to keep from falling far. ]

S-sir...!? [ She's actually kind of impressed... Big Damn Heroes are so cool. ] Please be careful! [ "Don't let it drop me". ]

[Ed doesn't waste any time. These things were big and stupidly slow. Easy targets. He claps his hands and slams them on the ground, sending a wave of stone spikes towards the ant and before the thing has time to register that it got hit, he rushes towards Rika.]

Rika! Let go, I'll catch you. I promise!

[ Oh well geez, this is embarrassing... especially since Rika favors herself as someone who looks after his stupid self.

So sorry, Ed. She's going to be reluctant with accepting your help. Especially because dfasfas being caught would be so embarrassing! ]
