Here is why I weep:
Damon Salvatore spent 170+ years and only just now became a Real Boy. I mean, I think my favorite parts were the Defan scenes, only because Damon HAD thought about things, and his mocking tour of the pretty house Stefan brought him too--the "open floor plan" and "updated kitchen" and Stefan trying to scare him with the fact that neither of them know how to cook/TV dinners and Damon saying he'll have his "beautiful stainless steel refrigerator." And then the capper: OH GOD, ELENA HAS A JOB, SOMEBODY HELP ME!
Because yeah. I love that Stefan's version of hell is, you know, TV dinners and a tired overworked wife. He doesn't get mean until Elena pushes him. And she's probably the one who came up with the bad scenarios. Because, well, STEFAN.
My pain over all of this is the humor at the base of it, and the perfection of these scenes. I just, I guess I have to tip my hat to these bastards who think they can have a show without Elena, because at least they've given me such an amazing season of television.
[And in a completely petty moment that I'm not even going to pretend to be an adult as I say: Nikki Reed should never ever ever watch any of these episodes, because her husband is fucking IN LOVE WITH NINA DOBREV. And how could he not be????]
I'm just gonna assault you all with gifs, and say that perhaps my read of next week is wrong, and they aren't just gonna flat out MURDER Elena Gilbert, but either way, it's the end of the line.
I will miss this ride; I will miss the things I discover: like Chris Wood, who seriously could not be anymore perfect in two seconds of screen time, like ever. He's the GREATEST. By far, the best villain they've ever had, including Klaus. #sorrynotsorry
