This is just a perfect little moment that makes such logical sense of their relationship. I loved this quote because I think something along these lines everytime I see the Oliver character; "She wants to smooth her fingers across his forehead and kiss his worries away." There is just such pain and loneliness radiating from Oliver that of course Felicity would be constantly tempted to try and soothe it.
I couldn't get into this season, for some reason it just wasn't clicking for me (it could have something to do with the increase in Laurel I knew was coming) but you story makes me want to binge watch now to see if it would suck me back in because your story has so peaked my interest in Oliver & Felicity again.
S3 has been a victim of bad writing and terrible pacing, but it has gotten much better the last few episodes. I like Laurel, so that didn't bother me (in fact, I really enjoy her with Roy and Felicity), and episode 12 was really good for that dynamic, but also for all of Team Arrow as they were functioning without their leader. This week's episode, 3x16 is the first one this season that I've wanted to rewatch immediately, and I spent a good deal of time yesterday watching the Olicity scenes in particular to fuel this fic. Their dynamic is so good when it's written correctly, and I do feel like the last few eps have gotten them back on track.
I'm still trepidatious about the rest of the season, but I'm not as ready to give up on the show as I was like 6 episodes ago.
