I've been rewatching S4 of The Vampire Diaries. I've often expounded on how 2x01 "The Return" is my favorite episode, but in my old Elena-loving age, I think perhaps 4x06 "We All Go a Little Mad Sometimes" is really my favorite episode

You say Elena-loving age, does that mean you don't love Elena anymore?

I said "old Elena-loving age" meaning "old age" -- meaning that when I was younger, Damon was my favorite. But now that I'm older, Elena is my favorite.

So, if anything, I love Elena MORE now than I did back when 4x06 aired, so when I rewatch it, my feelings are amplified ;-)

I was doing some internet research the other night...and I guess I don't know how the ACTUAL books end because I had mistakenly seen something I thought was the end of the final novel only to find out it was fanfiction that the original author wrote when she got fired from writing the series for being too pro-Delena. So maybe the actual novels end with Stelena, now I don't know.

I think Plec and Dries are too hardcore Delena/Steroline shippers to give us anything else for the ending, but I could be totally wrong.

In LJ Smith's ending, Elena is with Damon and the verbage is something like she couldn't imagine spending her eternity with anyone else. I feel like they've already illustrated that on the show, so it should continue, right? HOPE HOPE HOPE.

As for 4x06 being my fave, after having finished my S4 rewatch, I'm pretty sure it's my favorite season of the show. Unless S6 continues to be amazing (minus 6x10, which was kinda weird). LOL
