Here's where I rant about something I love very much.

Movies are a money making business, I get it. People are hired a lot of the time not based on talent, but their value--meaning, can they get asses in the seats come opening weekend. Throughout Kristen Stewart's rise to fame, this has been bandied about. As Bella, tons of girls flocked to theaters everywhere. It had nothing to do with her, really. ( Read more... )

Truth to be told, I'm just baffled when I look at the whole Kristen Stewart thing (thank you, tumblr, for keeping me posted). I mean, yeah, it's wrong to cheat on your boyfriend, but how the hell is this anybody's business? o_O Like, in which universe is it her employers' business? I honestly don't understand. It wouldn't even cross my mind that a person could be fired because of something like that. It's private, for God's sake!

I pretty much agree with every word. There is nothing good about this at all.

The whole situation is rotten, but how she's been vilified and lost a job while he's gotten off professionally unscathed is just a fucking disgrace. The media will NEVER let it go, either, no matter what she does. Just look at Jennifer Aniston/Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie so many years later.

Kristen actually hasn't been fired from the sequel. Long before the cheating scandal ever happened, the plans were for SWaTH to be a spinoff with the Huntsman. She was never supposed to be in the next movie.

I'm not really a fan of k-stew anyway, but Hollywood is a rough town. The girl is barely an adult, while Sanders is in his forties and really should know better. I feel horrible for his wife.

I also totally see what you're saying at the top there. I think maybe the studio was quick to jump ship there, but really, she's pretty much a social pariah at this moment. I can understand why they wouldn't want to have her headlining their sequel. A lot of her tween and teen fans are probably going to shun her (at least for a while) because of what she did to her (perfect, white knight, untouchably pure) boyfriend. (not recognizing that r.pattz is probably none of those things)

Also, Chris Brown is a jerk and I won't buy his albums ever. :P He doesn't deserve a grammy for his crap music imho.
