I wanted to tell that I am enjoying your story immensely, but in addition, I just really love the way you write. It is very descriptive, but in a concise, economical way. For example, "A human boy in deprivation of love became a vampire amplified by need and loss and decades of emptiness." It's a short sentence, but it conveys so much. I'm looking forward to the next part of this story, and I hope you have many more to come in this fandom. I friended you, hope that's okay.

Hi! I came here via damon_elena and because you had a snazzy title.

But this fic... wow. The angst is beautifully written - not over the top, but still heavy enough so that the readers know that Elena did not easily come to realizing her feelings for Damon.

I can't wait to read the last part of the series and more from you in the future.

I loved this immensely. I loved your insight into damon's need for love- I'm a big believer that he had always been looking for acceptance and love and that obsession with Kat sprang from that.

I absolutely adored this chapter. The banter with Caroline was just right and it makes sense that he'd seek her advice after Elena's speech.

Having the pivotal scene take place in her bedroom was perfect. You wrote that moment between them like you had access to Julie & Kevin's minds. Everthing they uttered was eloquent and ideally-suited to the scene.

The flow and rhythm of the entire piece is impeccable. Everything thing just fit together so easily.

The impassioned, intense exchange before they finally make love, was brilliant. Especially when Elena says, "Tell me what I can't remember."

It's so easy to say, he can't believe he ever made her forget it. "I love you, Elena."
GAH!!!

You've captured their complexity, and chemistry with astonishing accuracy. I seriously got lost in your description of their afterglow.

I understand why you wanted add another chapter. This just didn't feel like the end.

I can't even tell you how much I love writing Damon/Caroline BFFs. They are so much fun.

I loved the idea of Damon sitting on the window seat just like he did that night. Gah. It's funny because I expected the sex scene to be sexier (that came later as you know since you read the other part), but it was so much more emotional. They are so much fun to write, honestly.

It makes me so happy that you like it so much!

"Because, let's face it, that's way more interesting." Very much Caroline. I love her quirks and how she is with Damon

"Before you loved her." Simple, direct, and perfectly timed in the midst of Damon's laughable attempt at denying his love of Elena

There's a tinge of pity in her eyes Excellent observation! Damon is very much driven by his hatred of pity due to Kat's mistreatment of him. I loved his reaction here.

Now she is his equal (and perhaps far better than him, but then again, who isn't?) Another key Damon trait - his non-existent self-esteem

You are so sweet to do this! Here's the God's honest truth: writing is so organic, and when lines come out that are just so perfect, many times, I as the writer, find things that I like so much, or that I"m surprised with how well it encapsulates the character/situation/feeling, etc., that when a reader quotes something back, and you see that those things stood out to them too, then you know it was actually the perfect line that you thought/hoped it was, not just a random event.

I especially like the parts you chose of the Damon/Caroline scene. I really think that might be my favorite part of the whole story. I just love them.

And all the romantic stuff with DE, because yes, THEY BELONG TOGETHER! Amen!
