Summary: He should have been able to guess it would have been some silly thing when he had been woken up that morning by three very happy face.

The zoo, Kyouya thought, casting a tired glance to the blond at his right.

He should have been able to guess it would have been some silly thing when he had been woken up that morning by three very happy face-one belonging to a bright and cheery blond and the other two belonging to identical twins with sly grins. They knew the consequences of waking up the black haired seventeen year-old on the weekends. But such consequences were not of much care when it came to the blond or the twins.

He could only sigh as he was dragged along by Tamaki, the blond’s hand in his and their fingers laced together, while listening to what the twins had to say.

It was going to be a long day, he knew, but at least it would be enjoyable. So he hoped.

And it was after seeing the snow leopards and reindeer, but before the elephants and rhinoceroses, that Kyouya actually spoke up, glasses glinting in the light.

“Which one of you three came up with this idea?”

It was on cue that both Hikaru and Kaoru point to the blond and Tamaki just beamed, as if this was a good thing. “I was wondering how long it would take for you to ask that, Kyouya!” He was ready to flaunt his smart-wit for this, Kyouya just knew it. “It was my idea and it took a lot of persuasion-”

“-he means whining,” the twins corrected, grinning.

“-persuading,” he said, “to get the twins agree with the idea and come along. And I just assumed-”

“-it’s a shame he doesn’t consider your thoughts on the matter,” the twins interrupted again, which they received a glare for by Tamaki.

“--that you would have no qualms against joining the three of us!” He paused to grin, absolutely beaming in delight. “This is just like a family outing, in a way, if you think about!”

“I suppose.” Kyouya blinked, glancing to the twins and then to Tamaki.

The only person missing was their ‘daughter’ but such a thing didn’t seem to bother the four of them, though did Tamaki suddenly go into a whole one-sided conversation about how it was such a shame that Haruhi had been busy that day and could not join them.

“It is a shame that Haruhi couldn’t come along, isn’t Kaoru?” Hikaru asked his brother, a small grin on his lips as he eyed the blond.

“Aah, it is, indeed, Hikaru,” Kaoru replied, mirroring that grin and turning his gaze to their senior.

And they both leaned in close to Tamaki, raising identical hands and pointing at the blond’s face before saying in unison, “She could have been here wearing that cute sundress from our mother’s new collection.”

Tamaki imagined, Kyouya sighed, and the twins laughed.

And as much as the two cared for the blond they never would pass up a chance to poke at or joke with him. It was far too easy to get that imagination of Tamaki’s going or to send their lord into the corner of woe and self-pity.

But they continued their day at the zoo without any real sort of problem.

Tamaki would point and tug the twins close to him, gripping them around the shoulders a little too tight, and make comments about the animals they saw. Hikaru would poke fun at Tamaki every now and then, getting a fuming blond ready to chase after him if he dare pressed one more button. Kaoru and Kyouya would keep to a mature sort of level and make conversation about the animals-a more serious sort of conversation than what they would have with Tamaki or Hikaru. Kaoru would occasionally slip up to the blond’s side and hold his hand, telling him a little about an animal that Tamaki did not know too much about. The twins, together, would walk hand in hand with a smile and, on occasion, either drape themselves over Tamaki or try to aid the help of Kyouya for their teasing of the blond.

Kyouya, being Kyouya, of course, would keep from teasing his best friend and just give Hikaru and Kaoru a smile and let them do as they wanted. But the glint of his glasses gave them warning to keep the teasing mild.

He did not want to deal with a sulking king, especially while they were on the bus ride in the lion exhibit.

“What would happen,” Hikaru started.

“If we fed our lord,” Kaoru continued.

“To the lions?” They finished together, leaning forward in their seat and setting their hands to Tamaki’s shoulders. The blond’s eyes widened and he gaped like a fish out of water; his mouth opened and closed but no words, other than a squeak, came out and he nearly flailed at their outlandish idea. However, Kyouya just turned a bit and pushed his glasses up his nose, the light glinting off the glass.

“I would dare you to go ahead with that idea, both of you,” he smiled, head tilting and eyes closing, “but I fear that the loss of our beloved Tamaki, whom you two are joking about feeding to the lions, would devastate so many that you both would not be able to come out of your home for weeks.”

And how right he was, too, and they actually considered this thought.

“Can you imagine how many of my lovely princesses would be upset over such a loss?” The blond pouted and sighed. The dramatics were coming into play. “Why ever would either of you want to put such heartache upon those beauties and gain their everlasting hatred? For shame, my dear twins! Thinking that you could off your father like that without much thought and consideration for others!”

“...we would rather not experience the wrath of all those fangirls,” Hikaru said, looking to Kaoru, natural and pure fear in his eyes. “Could you even imagine what they would do us?”

“Probably the same thing a pack of lions do while on a hunt.” Kaoru blinked and both twins shuddered, which got Tamaki to grin and Kyouya to smirk. It was just the thought and images in their mind that got the reactions that the simple statement did.

“So, I suppose, this means that you two will reconsider?”

Both boys looked to Kyouya and made a noise, slipping down in their seats as they clung to one another. Death by fangirls-enraged women-was not a way either wanted to go.

“Yes,” the both said, eyeing that creepy smile that the blond was wearing, “we’ll reconsider, as we love him better alive than dead, anyway.”
