No one is probably here, but I need a place to get this all out. I'm so angry, and I need to move on with my day, and I don't think I can do that until I've had my rant.
I work in health care, specifically dealing with insurance companies. Companies love to blame the doctors, it ain't the doctors. The pain meds is our wonderful federal government, they have limited what doctors can and can't prescribe for pain and left patients in agony. I'm so sorry you're going through this. And I wish I had an answer.
oh, how awful. I went through the same evil periods from Hell situation until I finally got a hysterectomy so I know how it feels, and insurance companies suck. I've gone through so much bullshit because of them.
I went through a similar fiasco re:insurance. Office is adament they're in network, insurance is adament they're not. This has gone on for a few months of the office telling me they're going to contact their person who handles insurance stuff, maybe they have to resubmit some papers? I haven't gone back or heard from them but I've also moved so... It could be they didn't update my address as requested too.
What I'm trying to say is talk to the office, there's a possibility there's a hiccup in their paperwork or system. If the doctor has been nice I'd be prone to believe her over the insurance personally. The doctor might have submitted it but then the office person in charge might have actually submitted it later (accident?). Same with suddenly being out of network. Let the office know what the insurance is saying. They might be able to fix it.
Edit: Turns out there was a hiccup somewhere cuz they're back in network again and the "out of network" bill has been covered/fixed. Hope your insurance issue was resolved too!
I just wanted to share some sympathy. I also once had to have a surgery postponed due to insurance (and we thought we might have to pay for it out of pocket, despite not having the money) and I know how awful and stressful it is.
I hope things are smoothed out soon and you can get the healthcare you need.
