So, a couple of days ago, I decided to go a family owned pizza place for lunch. They have a cluttered atmosphere because of how small the place is. They only have two tiny tables, and the oven is literally right next to the ordering counter. It isn't what I would choose, but they have great pizza, so I keep going there ( Read more... )

uhhh, wtf? he just gave you pizza coupons?

did they offer you the option of medical service? they should have insurance to cover that.

in any case, i hope you heal up well and feel better!

They didn't offer, but I didn't go to a hospital, I just wrapped my arm up.

I was kind of shocked about what happened. He apologized to me right after the injury happened, and I was running my arm under cold water in their bathroom...so I wasn't really thinking much at that point.

Thank you!

If you go to the hospital they can give you some excellent creams for burns that make them heal so very much better with less scarring. An urgent care clinic can take care of small area burns if you don't think it's really emergency room levels of bad.

I hope you get better soon! I know burns are really painful. :(

This!! Or just any old doctor or maybe a clinic? I had second degree burns on my shoulder (long story) and I finally caved and went to see my doctor and the burn cream helped me SO MUCH.

You could sue for so much monies. :O I can't believe they wouldn't do more for you than just coupons.

They deserve to go bankrupt if they think it's a great idea to have the oven RIGHT THERE where customers can come into contact with it.

I'd really feel guilty about that, since they're a family company and fairly decent people. But I really want them to move the oven, and, for whatever reason, they're not doing it. It's probably because they don't have enough room, but they could get rid of a table.

You could potentially sue for an injunction instead of money. Basically you're suing them to force them to move the oven, and if they dont THEN they suffer monetary fines.

I was kinda stupid in accepting them, but he happened to offer (see above) when I was distracted and was trying to stop the burns from getting worse.

I did ask for them to move the oven, but they haven't done it yet. I'm not terribly agressive, so I have no idea what to do if that don't end up moving it.

Just because you got the coupons after they offered doesn't mean it closes the deal. You should go back and ask them to pay for a hospital trip.

Get medical attention ASAP. Then talk to a lawyer and the health department. Don't be nice. You could have been seriously injured and don't feel guilty. What if a child had been the one pushed face first into the oven?

please sue them. i'm sorry but next time it could be a mother holding a baby that gets pushed on it and seriously hurt..

Seriously. Tell them you'll drop it if they move the freakin' oven.

i might even still report it in that situation. if they don't think that's a big deal then who knows what else they have going on? they at least need an unexpected inspection of the premises. you don't have to sue them if you are happy with them moving the oven but it sounds like they need a look over, you can probably remain anonymous and everything.

This.

If you're feeling guilty about it because it's a small company, just don't sue for anything beyond the cost of medical treatment, and insist they move their oven so no one gets hurt again.
