EXACTLY THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME. D: Except without the cold.. I'm in Arizona. But it did happen when I was trying to get to school to take a final, which I almost missed because of it. .__.
Same thing has happened to me in Brooklyn, several times. I've even pounded on the side of the bus and heard people telling the driver to open the doors but nope, off they go.
Heh, I ride the 17 on that route every day and I bet I can guess what happened. There's a route (114) that goes to the U of M campus, and every day my bus goes through there will be 3-6 college students at every stop in uptown, all of them waiting for the 114. The driver will pull over, nobody will move toward the bus, and he'll pull away. Sometimes the students will be milling around randomly, creating a false impression that one or more are walking toward the bus for a moment before they turn away. You probably got a bad driver who assumed that because you didn't fling yourself toward the door with sufficient vigor for his tastes, you must be one of those damn students, and you're just walking randomly while waiting. (although I have no idea what was going on with the "stop again and then leave" thing, maybe he was just a jerk
( ... )
yea, when he drove off the first time, i thought that was the case even thouh i did start to approach the bus. after he drove off AGAIN then i figured t was just a jerk.
i was running a bit late for school, but usually i am at the stop with a lot of different peope [going on the 17, 6, and 114]
think he was just a dick. i've had mostlygood experiences with drivers though, so i guess there have to a few bad apples.
I ride the 21, and yeah, this is what one of my bus-driving friends told me. Although it doesn't explain why I'll be at the freaking 21 stop and the bus will just blow right past me even though, dude, this stop is in the middle of the block, why would I be standing in a freaking snow bank? /rage
