Mixed Bag 'o Sucks and Lots of Words Ahoy!

Nov 18, 2010 16:49

Quick general stuff; recently found this place, relatively new to posting in general so tell me if I fuck up too badly (yes I know no one cares it's my first time), and I tend to ramble and go on tangents. My bigger sucks are medical-related. I might will edit this if I remember anything else, by the way. Lots o' sucks that I've repressed, heh.

Blah Ramble LOTS OF WORDS )

does not count towards nanowrimo, *restaurant, no one cares it's your first time, *medical/pharmacy, bedside manners

There is, in fact, and depending on your state, it ranges from six months to four years.

We mostly just shrugged it off because both they and I decided that it really wasn't worth hiring a lawyer, going to court, and all the problems that will come with that--for what? Money? Yeah, its nice...but it won't do much good to replace the organ I lost, or the week or so spent in pain.

The single reason it would be even slightly worth it is to make sure the hospital/doctor knows that he Fucked Up.

I tend to be very believing in fate and such, and I do believe that it is for the better that we went to the second doctor. Plus, less money for the dicks at Ocshner. (Yes I'm a little bitter, is it obvious?)

You should file a complaint at the bad hospital at the very least.

Was there any way to mail the cyst to that god awful doctor? That's be a nice surprise for him. Oh, you missed this!

I doubt it. I didn't even get to see it in person--I only got pictures from after the biopsy.

I don't know for sure, and I may have made it up, but they -may- have saved it. I do tend to have an overactive imagination, so I am most likely wrong on this though!

Nope, I was wrong about that! I dunno where I got the idea from.

Oh my Gosh, you're so young and all of this nasty stuff is happening to you! Will you still be able to have children, I mean, if you want to? I hope you feel better.

If she only lost the one ovary there should be no problem on that front. But, and this may sound harsh, I would not be in a hurry to pass those genetics on.

You're right on the first front, and I totally understand the second. I will also mention that in relation to that, my brother has a relatively mild Asperger's, my dad certainly gave him some of those traits if not outright having it himself, and I myself notice certain obsessive and anti-social behaviors. Plus a family history of things like OCD and depression and a tendency towards addiction.

Oh, and I do occasionally get bitter about my medical problems and half-blame my mom. So, that is a fairly good incentive not to have kids...despite maybe possibly someday when I have a decent support system/long-term partner wanting to have one and ONLY one.

The way I see it, my immediate family (extended, not so much) rocks in just about every other regard; we make up for it by having massive amounts of medical-related suck.

There's always adoption, which would help another kid who could really use the love from an understanding person.

Horrible, HORRIBLE service!

I'm just wondering about this comment:
I've been known to read a book while having blood drawn, even!
Well, yes. I do this all the time... But then having blood drawn doesn't hurt! Unless your nerves work differently because of your illness, in which case I apologize for my confusion. I just got really puzzled why this should be an example of your high tolerance to pain - which I don't doubt, btw - as having blood drawn shouldn't hurt, as long as it's done correctly.

Yeah, I guess that's true. I'm just used to people WTF-ing over it enough that...I guess I somehow figured it was a mental disregard of that kind of thing? -shrug-

Though, my tolerance has swung in the opposite direction--if I bump against something it hurts like hell. I miss that high tolerance. Dx

Ah, that makes sense. I've had people go WTF about it as well, but it's mostly been because of my lack of caring about needles than because they thought it hurt.

Crap :( That sucks.

WUT... it does hurt! Especially when your veins like to flatten and hide, and the nurse has to go looking for them!

I don't want to be the same kind of a-hole we have had hanging around here the past few days. So, I will just say one thing: As a fibro sufferer, I want to say that one of the things they care about is making sure you are (basically forcing yourself) getting at least half an hour of physical exercise per day. Phy Ed (Phys Ed, what the hell ever kids call it these days) is something you SHOULD be trying to do, whether there is a cheerleader with you or not-- although the nurse is nosy/bitchy, she is right that the 30-45 minutes physical education lasts is roughly how much physical stuff you need to be doing to maintain a lifestyle of any kind.

EDIT: After finishing the whole entry... I have to say that I'd like you to get a second opinion for your DX. Because aside from the restless leg syndrome, it honestly sounds like you have something else entirely, and you are young enough to deserve and get a better diagnosis.

And don't ask my opinion about chiropracty. :|

"Chiropacty"

I'm sure it's a real word but it looks and sounds made-up.

I think I need to go back to bed.
