My husband and I collect antiques. You could say it's our hobby and we love to browse in shops and purchase what catches our eye.

If she'd do that to you, who knows what *else* she may do? Call the owner, I'm sure that he'd like to know what's going on when he isn't there.

I'd definitely contact the owner. They deserve to know about the crap one of their employees is trying to pull when they're not there. Especially since it was enough to make them lose a couple of very loyal customers.

OT, but damn, now I really want to get back into antiquing. I haven't been to an antique store in years.

Contact the owner I say. She might not even have been telling the truth about there being a mistake. (I mean, she probably was, but it would be a pretty easy scam to pull if she wanted to make a bit of extra pocket money.)
