A friend and I were at the mall today and we were looking for liquid eyeliner for a cosplay prop. We were dressed in our cosplays, and we went inside of a Sephora figuring they would have something. We were in there a good 15 minutes and not one of the sales ladies even greeted us. I asked my friend if we should ask one of them were the liquid ( Read more... )

What sort of cosplay were you doing? Knowing what type of Sephora is, it wouldn't surprise me if they were freaked out. The service in any store is less than stellar for anyone not fitting their "type". >:(

Who were you cosplaying as from DGM? That kind of sucks that the salesgirls ignored you. I wonder if you weren't dressed in cosplay, but wearing something like traditional Japanese garb, would they still ignore you?

That's what my friend was wondering as well. She was dressed up as Crown Clown Allen((Minus his hand and scar)) and I was dressed up as Tyki Mikk

Well, who were you cosplaying as? If it was outrageous, I can understand the hesitation. Doesn't make it right, but I can understand it.

EDIT: Derp. Ninja'd.

That being said, D.GM isn't that bad. Could be mistaken for Hot Topic clothes in some cases. Sorry that happened to you. Unacceptable >:(

Pretty typical of Sephora as far as my experiences have gone. No help or greeting but they eyeball and follow you around as if you are ready to pocket everything. I understand you work with small items and I'm sure have a high theft rate but ugh.

Yea it was even more unsettling because my friend was trying to get a saleslady's attention they gave her a dirty look and turned on her heal.

It seems to depend on the store. The one by me they are always too busy talking to each other to help customers. Yeah, I rarely go to Sephora.

Yea my friend and I are not ever going in there again. It had been my first time in there, and I don't know anything about makeup so I really had no clue.

Urban Decay is excellent - very saturated, long-lasting and fun colours. Grab the eyeshadow primer potion for even more staying power... I'm addicted to the stuff. :P

This~ <3 But I prefer their 24/7 eyeliners... in rockstar. :x purple ftw.

That said, I've never had bad service at the Sephora I frequent.. they've always been really friendly/helpful and their customer service is better than most of the stores around their store. :( I'm sorry they were rude and ignoring you and your friends.

That's Sephora for you. I get it all the time, while it isn't right and I am not making excuses for them, but I guess people do steal all the time, this lady was talking to me about NARS and in mid sentence she ran after someone who lifted a whole bottle of perfume. It was crazy, she apologized but I GET IT ALL THE TIME. Sephora staff seem to not want to help if you don't look like "their crowd." This is why I order online and only go in to try out stuff that I'm interested.
