I use it to skip the queue, heh. If I select a pick up time 15 minutes from now, and the in store wait time is 45 minutes..well, the computer doesn't know that. Very handy on weekends and holidays.
I think Domino's has one of those corporate ordering centers? Where everyone calls the same number to order, and then it gets passed to and processed at your local store?
Not all Pizza Hut's. The one I work at (and all the ones in our area) still takes its own orders). You can call the 800 number, but you don't have to. If you called us, we would take your order, not redirect you to the other number.
While you could be entirely right, it could also be the computer system having a huge glitch. I work at a call centre and believe me, this can happen. Although it's bad service either way and if you let them know the company will look into it.

Oh, sorry! I thought I was in customers_suck for a moment. I've always found it infuriating when people complain about customers wanting to do business during business hours. I've seen complaints about customers coming into a store fifteen or twenty minutes before close. What the hell is wrong with people? If a client is in the store (or on the phone) before the close of business, they must be served. Anyone who doesn't want to do so should quit. Anyone caught pulling crap like this should be fired.
