Instead of automatically forwarding the calls, they need to have a message mentioning the change in hours & the number to call. That eliminates the chance of them forgetting when they answer at the other location.
My guess is that their phone system doesn't tell them whether or not a given call has been forwarded from the other store's number and whoever answered the phone forgot to ask, since there was no delivery address to clue them in. Still, that sucked and I would hope that discounts would be forthcoming. psychomatt's solution would probably be best in the future, though.
