Tax Blues

Apr 24, 2007 10:22

When tax season came around my husband scheduled an appointment with H & R Block on a day he had off but I did not. This meant that when he picked me up from work I needed to sign the papers and then we just needed to drop them off at H&R Block. I take out our tax papers and notice that my name is misspelled. My first name is Rachel, and the tax ( Read more... )

Sorry, I don't see the bad service here. Maybe a little with the swearing but that's pushing it because if he's been there all day and dealing with a fraud issue he's probably frustrated.

And I think it's entirely possible that "Rachael" IS the only way he has seen it spelled.

And if I had been the H&R Block person who helped you and you HAD responded with "Obviously you don't read the Bible" I'd probably finish up your printing and get you out of there - whether or not someone has read the bible should have no weight when it comes to how they know a name is spelled. I would likely spell it Rachel but that's because of Friends, not the bible.

Excuse me for not wanting my taxes fucked up. and yes he did swear at us because he was having problems. I dont care if he reads the bible or not, I didnt call him a moron, I didnt say it to his face, I thought it in my head. I was polite to him while he swore at us about his fucking computer problems. I usually appoligise about misspelling someones name, I dont tell them that obviously they have been spelling it wrong their entire life. I always try to be a nice customer because I have been on the other side, and in this case I was a very nice customer. I did not say anything to him about him being an idiot about spelling my name wrong I just mentioned that it does tend to happen alot to me. What I did not appreciate was him taking out his bad day on me. And no I am not a troll. This is my first post to this community because I didn't want to post something I wanted to have a little rant about on a community ill fitted to it. Obviously what I considered bad service is not something that belongs in this community.

Okay first of all, I never called you a troll so don't pull that bullshit on me.

Second of all you didn't say that he said you'd been spelling it wrong your entire life. All that you said he said was "I dont think I have ever seen it not spelled Rachael." which is NOT saying that you spell your own damn name wrong.

And you said he was swearing ABOUT the computer program problems not at you. So again, not bad service but it is a bit rude.

Next time you post maybe you should include all the details because what you did include is NOT bad service. And no, he shouldn't take his bad day out on you but are you going to tell me that you've never taken a bad mood out on someone who didn't deserve it?

judging from your reply, swearing isn't that big of a deal to you.

Not bad service. Not everyone reads the bible. Accept it and move on.

Also,

Then the H&R guy says, "I dont think I have ever seen it not spelled Rachael." I couldn't believe it, I nearly responded with, "Obviously you dont read the Bible." but I didnt want anything else to happen to our taxes so I held my tongue.

Yeah. Because it's obvious that someone who doesn't read the bible is inherently evil and will stoop to committing tax fraud over something so stupid.

Grow up and get a life!

Many of us don't read the Bible. I prefer my fiction to be a little less misogynistic.

my name is rachel as well. Most people will spell it Rachael because Michael is spelled with an -ael and they sound like they have similar endings.
