I normally don't mind Japanese type characters in certain fantasy settings ... IF the setting supports them! Order of the Stick? Yeah, there's a samurai/ninja type nation there. Forgotten Realms? Okay, D&D gave us a book entitled Oriental Adventures which is essentially "not Japan, really", and I'm pretty sure there's a Japan-analogue nation ( Read more... )

and I believe that he'd be offended if someone told him that he's Japanese (I think that he's from Hong Kong, but I could be mistaken.)

There's so many different ethnicities in China alone that I'd have a field day creating a character for your game just with China!
