Dear DM,
I think you're pretty awesome when it comes to running a game. You try to be as descriptive as possible and even bring your wife in as a co-DM so that your NPC conversations don't seem as awkward. I approve of all of these things
However, you did tell us this custom dungeon would be hard, but when the first two encounters leave us with 0 healing surges left with only 3 of the 6 characters managing to escape...well, It might be just a little too hard.
Telling us that you're thinking about restocking the dungeon and moving around the discovered traps for this session isn't exactly what I would call enticing either. I would understand if we were mid-level characters or maybe at the 25% casualty rate, but when its 50% of nothing but first level characters? Come on. It won't be a hard dungeon as it would be just a meat grinder. I hope you'll realize this today.
