Now the mental picture of someone randomly drooling 'dark, thick syrup', like Jennifer in 'Jennifer's body' is stuck in my mind.

I umm..I gotta agree, the molasses bit isn't really a particularly bad thing. Then again its partially because of the area I originally came from, where using molasses in such a context wasn't uncommon. With the substance often being used as a basis of comparison for many many things.
