Ah. I read it as them having been accused of using purple prose because they were able to apply either/or and neither/nor properly. (Which wouldn't entirely surprise me, coming from some of the residents of the internet.) Oops!

(I'm not entirely certain that purple prose is English. It might be some strange moon language that happens to have some words in common.)
