This was supposed to be a rant about something else, but this is a fresh wound.

I was supposed to be writing something else, but instead I’ll write about you. Yes, you. Why can we not get rid of you? It’s been over a year, and you’re still harassing people. You did it just! today! I saw the conversation! WTF.

‘tis a timeless tale of not so much a bad role-player, as much as a psychotic one that won’t leave the innocent alone. )

You know... I think I know exactly who you're talking about. She tried similar things with us, but nothing ever resulted of it, thank goodness.

Seriously? I would like to hear THAT story.

There isn't much of a story to tell, sadly. See below.

You should TOTALLY talk about it. I think everyone, whether they RP or not, if they like RE, have encountered her.

I nearly died when I found out she was kicked from one of the RE iconning communities for drama.

She’s been everywhere! She’s been kicked out of communities! She runs a website of Rain’s actress, Michelle somethingorother!
Rodriguez, I think. She's currently doing voicework on IGPX, and is actually quite pretty when she's not been butched up.

Sad to have her associated with this crazy.

Yeah, I think you're right, and I agree. I see nothing wrong with being a fan, but she's OBSESSED with her. Obviously. Especially with her RE role. Her very... tiny RE role.

I feel so sorry for you. People that use their disorders as an excuse to go crazy on people on the internet make me want to go stabby.

Yes. And it happens more often than I actually thought it COULD.

Every fandom is issued at least a couple of these people at inception. It's a natural law or something, and gives the sane people a common enemy to band together against. I think it's supposed to make us appreciate the good, non-psycho players who actually know what they're doing.

Though, with me, people like this have managed to ruin one or two characters I previously had a great and abiding fondness for, and now can barely stand to look at because of the associations. The best thing you can do is just tell them to stay away from you, and block them repeatedly if necessary.

And it's sad that they have the power to destroy characters like that. It really is. I should be feeling fortunate that I HATE the movies, and I especially hate that character, from the get-go.

I wish LJ was like GJ, where you can take people off your Friends' Of list, too.

I kinda-sorta know this girl. She's even worse than that... ardath_rekha April 29 2006, 19:37:30 UTC
Oh holy fuck, I know exactly who you're talking about.

After I brought my pyro-girl into the Nexus in October, a friend of mine decided to bring her RE-Alice in. This was an AU Alice from a crossover fanfic she'd written, with an AU-canon relationship even. Alice came in... didn't get nearly the welcome the player deserved because so many RE fans are Alice-hostile... but then this Rainplayer popped up.

And wanted to 'ship them.

And didn't care that my friend isn't into Slash... and didn't care that my friend's Alice had a backstory she was ignoring... just went for the smoochies.

And ooh boy did she throw fits when my the guy my friend's Alice was involved with showed up.

I must say it was hilarious watching her try to figure out ways to get between them and break them up. She tried to enlist my pyro-girl to help her, and tried to enlist Alice's cat to help her. My friend was totally baffled, too, as to where this 'ship came from, given that Alice spent a lot more of the first movie with Matt and would, in Earth Logic theory ( ... )

*foams* What. the. HELL.

I mean, I HATE Alice, but that is a totally awesome backstory, and beats the hell out of the way RE:A ended.

And yet this is completely expected. How she has an ENTOURAGE is beyond me, and it IS true: Nearly everyone's encountered her if they've touched RE.

I think a lot of them were signed up as members of lunatic_cafe, when I was looking at their profiles.

My friend's stance is pretty interesting. She's been playing the RE games since the first ones appeared, and has/loves them all. She's also a longtime fan of Milla Jovovich, and that may have ameliorated her feelings regarding OCs in the movies. Plus, she (along with a lot of people, including the filmmakers) worried about how the canon game characters might be handled (or mishandled) in the films. She likes Milla's portrayal, so she's okay with the character. When I watched RE, I (never having played any of the games) was okay with Alice because she really was there to give people unfamiliar with the fandom an entry-point; she started off oblivious to what was going on, but knowing it was something creepy and bad, and her "what the hell?" reactions kind of mirrored the less savvy members of the audience ( ... )
