Hope this hasn't been posted before. I took a million year break from LJ and I'm sure I missed a ton.

Anyhow.

I do not know how to jump, my Saddlebred will hop over a log in the trail but that's as far as we go. ONCE upon a time I showed a Friesian stallion in a flat class that had cross rails, lol. We won it! Just because he knew what he was doing

Kinda hard to judge a picture like that. I don't jump, but I've seen enough to know that you can have a lot of impredictable moments. Maybe it was bad_moment rather than bad_riding, who knows?
Having said that, holly cow, how did the rider even end up in this position? o.O

i want to say it's bad riding because her legs were LITERALLY FLAILING. FLAILING EVERYWHERE GOOD LORD.

but those were some fucking huge fences and she went around clear and fast. sooooooooooo........ mission accomplished!??! she has a great eye. i'm still confused how it worked out.

i know right? like how is she staying on? sheer balance? but damn she rode the shit out of that course and the horse is raring to go, so...no harm no foul?

That's Annette Miller/Lewis and Tutein. She used to jump a pony that was a bit too small for her and she ended up taking down the poles with her feet, so she ended up riding in this strange style to get over them and never stopped!

BTW in 1984 he actually jumped straight off the top of the Derby bank!

Is there any video of the '84 jump off the bank? I've looked for it a few times but never found it.

Isn't Tutein the horse that almost plowed into a crowd of spectators when his rein broke?
