LOL I watched that video several times trying to figure how she could have missed the horse longing right in front of her and I still don't get it.
The second horse is awesome. My trainer had me canter without touching the reins once, minus the macarena dance (but I did a knot in the reins). Somehow I managed to do it without doing an ass plant or getting dragged into the middle of the arena, haha.
Unfortunately, there are always going to be people who don't know what they're doing at horse shows. Even when it can be dangerous, all we can really do is consider if part of the showing experience. ;)
This is true, there was this girl at a show I went to that did nothing but ride up people's butts. She's lucky her horse didn't get kicked in the head.
That horse in the second video is awesome. Anything I ride would stop and spin into the center of the arena if I tried that. (G would probably try to do it in a manner so as to ensure I fell off :P).
However, note to class. If you're going to do anything like that with no reins, do tie a knot a little way down. The reins almost went over the pretty pony's head. Knotting them stops that from happening and it's actually quite dangerous.

Fortunately my mare was just as gobsmacked as me and didn't recover before I'd had a chance to drag her away.
