Udderly... Bad_Riding?

Now, I'm sure most people are amazed that a cow is jumping. I know cows are different than horses, but to me, a bunch of things just don't look right here. Why is her leg a mile behind her? Why do they awkwardly trot up to a jump, that I wouldn't usually trot over on a horse, and then just awkwardly flop over onto the other side and halt? Cow or ( Read more... )

hot topic!, saints, position_fail, english, video, green horse, wtf?, abuse, nope - not bad, crazy!!!, lameness, green rider, show jumping, funny, terrible trainers

If you really want to get anatomically correct...cows backs are more suited for being ridden on by people than horses are. They have a larger area able to bear weight and can do it longer and stay more sound than any horse could. Many are natural jumpers, too- granted- she'll never look graceful doing it...but if that cow didn't want to do any of this...she wouldn't. They're not exactly an animal you can force to do ANYthing.

I give this kid 2 thumbs up- she wanted to ride and her parents mushed her dream of a horse- so she did the next best thing with what she already had.

Plus...if the kid wasn't allowed to have a horse...do you really think she's been given riding instruction? She's riding a COW.

My hairdresser had beef cattle and horses growing up, and I remember her telling stories of the cattle being able to jump much higher than the horses when they wanted to.

They just generally don't want to, LOL.

That's just how cows move, and both the cow and the rider are doing really well IMO.

I totally bookmarked this. It's sweet and super cute and the cow looks like she loves the girl.

I've even seen buffalo trained and ridden back in my home state of North Dakota. :) When you're desperate... ;)

Eh. Other people have done it before, cows just aren't pretty.

Though if they're younger and riderless and the jump is lower...it is sorta cute. XD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee1pzhspKD0

Ok, so it's not a Hunter or Equitation Cow, it has to be a Jumper Cow! :D

I've always wanted a cow - the one in the vid looks super sweet. I think the vid, the girl and the cow are all adorable.
