"advanced" lesson

Well if they knew how to control their horses.

EDIT: I forgot to mention how much I love the opening annotation. "Don't judge me because I'm judging you!" Nothing like a little hypocrisy to make my day.

The sad thing is that a good instructor could fix most of the problems in 2 or 3 lessons.

If they call that "advanced," they're missing out on about 95% of cool stuff you can do on the back of a horse.

.... my thoughts exactly. They didn't even exhibit the basic 'stop' 'turn' 'go' skills, much less the skills to be schooling the 3' fence at the end of the video. Granted, looked like it was another lesson, and the riding was a tid bit better. but STILL. Good LORD.

If this is the advanced bunch the beginners lesson must really be something to see. That is all.

Advanced Riding?!?!?! burdfour1 January 31 2011, 12:02:53 UTC
Well, I have to agree with this one. I don't usually comment, because a lot of what I see here, I would put into the catagory of "kids screwing around on horses that they love," BUT that was pretty bad. Just how hard is it to steer into a jump when you are jumping down a fence line!!!! If this is an advanced group (lesson or now) I would hate to see the beginners....wait, the beginners might not be so painful, because they wouldn't be expecting much? And the ground poles.....aren't ground poles supposed to have the horse USING his legs and back? Each horse there hollowed out his back and threw his legs over the ground poles.....this one hurt.

Holy god loving shit that was horrifying. Steering please? And you have legs. Use them.

It's like they're just riding around the arena, hoping their horses will go over a few jumps here and there.

Those are some good horses, too. It takes a special kind of person to mess up that bad on a horse that's that good.
