I can relate. It's frustrating to find something which you know you would enjoy but not being able to read it. And I hate to ask someone to add me to his/her friends just to read his/her fic.

So it's not just me, then. I usually end up just not reading the fic, and that sucks for the writer as well, so the whole thing just seems silly.

And I'm very happy that you do.
I can't give you a time estimate, but I can tell you that I'm at about 7500 words now. The storyline is down pat, I just need to write the filler passages and work out where to put each section exactly.
