This really is a fantastic story. Well-written, an intriguing take on the characters, and I'm not even trying to guess ahead as to where you're taking this -- in part because you're not broadcasting it in neon letters, which is just another piece to the good writing, and in part because I'm just enjoying the ride. Of course you say very dark, so I've prepared myself for the idea that that might mean no happy ending as well as dark subject matter -- though I'll be sad if that's true ;) -- but I'm still looking forward to having the history filled in and to see how it all works out.
