I did want to mention that in the beginning you state, "my friend, Dan Bledsaw," while the next mention of him is, "I noticed that Dan Bledsaw had come back to Charleston," and, "I'd had quite the falling out with Dan a long time before my entire family had died." I wasn't sure if that was left intentionally vague or whatnot, but I thought it may be worth mentioning?

Intentionally vague for story-telling purposes. I still consider Dan to have been a good friend at one time. However, I am using recent events as a foreshadowing for storyline.
