*HUGS* on the health issues. Wolf was Type 1 before he died, (if that's the one that doesn't need daily insulin shots, I'm so ashamed) and I might be able to make viable suggestions on food-related questions. It was a balancing act with him and his ice cream cravings.

I'm really bad with needles, though testing my blood sugar no longer bothers me. Having to do it six to seven times a day at first broke me of that fear. However when I go to the doctor every three months I can't watch the blood taking guy.
If you need to vent, vent, That's what a journal is for. You can do this, and it is so much easier with support. Good luck!

I think in some ways being Type 1 is easier than Type 2, because you have to be on insulin and you have to take insulin whenever you eat anyway, so you have more leeway with your food choices. But insulin has its own downsides! Diabetes is just dumb, is what.
