Currently it is wet outside after major thunderstorms last night. I have no idea what it's going to do for the rest of the day. Weather forecasting around here involves the lost art of spinning the big wheel o' weather (tm) and seeing where it lands.
*spin* Okay, so the Doppler radar shows rain coming in from Nevada. *spin* Look like it's going to be a hot one today! But snow parking bans remain in effect over West Wilmette and Bridgeport. *spin* Ooh, free spin! *spin* Yay, natural disaster! Induce mass panic! Buy up the bottled water! Ratings bonanza! Ding ding ding ding ding! *spin* We've got a low pressure front coming in from Texas, which means that frogs will be falling on downtown Chicago for the next four hours. *spin* *double take* I have no idea what that is, so I'll just draw some lines on the map and pretend I know what I'm talking about.
Grey grey grey cold and sprinkly. Occasional spurts of freezing rain. The weather people kept promising us snow showers all weekend but they never came. Brr!
No snow here yet. The morning is cold and foggy (black ice).
The forecast says we might have rain or snow or mixed starting tonight and going on and off through Friday, but another forecast says the snow won't get this far north...
