With the summer months I thought it might be great if we could all share what those of us with white/pink nosed horses do to help fight the sunburn issue

Well, I got some water proof baby sun screen to tide me over until some really great stuff Sprithorse21 recommended comes, its an Emu Cream that goes by "Armor Cream" or that goes by "recover" now. Its Sunscreen and soothing for chapped skin. You can put it on all pink places that might get chapped. (even the corners of the mouth for a bit) Its hard to find, http://www.cmonbackacres.com/emuderme.html but call these people.
Someone else recommended to me that Desitin baby cream has Zinc oxide in it, but through some further research, I also read that it can cause irritation/burning. So do a small test patch.
As with any new and unconventional things, make sure you test it/ ask your vet before you go hog wild with it.
I love my Armor Cream. It rocks! Sam is an Appy with a lot of white, and he's blind from uveitis to boot. So he needs some powerful stuff that is gentle enough to use around his eyes. Definitively give the ranch a call. The guy's name is Searl Cline and he's very nice.
I am playing the game of...put the mask on...come to the barn again...find the mask in the pasture.
I have tried several different masks even the "impossible to get off" ones but he still figures it out...clever horse.
Did you sew the extension on to protect from sun or to help keep the mask on? If it is to help keep the mask on, further suggestions as to how would be greatly appreciated.
