Hehe! I'm a pretty light packer too! But that doesn't seem bad, if you're only going for one day- all you need is one outfit and maybe a spare t-shirt and pair of jeans.

Lol, what... my horse's grooming supplies WAY outnumber my own! That's abnormal? ;)

Yay for horseback weddings indeed though. They're so much fun!

And yeah, I don't think I've heard of bark-stripping as a habit. I've heard of horses doing it, but it's always been some medical concern, not behavioral. And just a question- call me ignorant, but can I ask what the beet pulp's purpose is? That's a new one in my book but it sounds interesting.

Beet pulp is basically a high concentrate of fat/carbs.
It's what's left (let me get this straight...) after....oh crap, someone else probably remmbers.

Anyway, it's a lot of carbs, and good for hard keepers. IT takes much less to maintain weight than other feeds, because of what it is -fat.
My gelding gets it, b/c for what 3lb a day of beet pulp can do, it'd take almost triple in grain, and almost double in STrategy to keep his weight on. (he's four years, and a growing percheron)

A lot of people who dont' have a problem with weight will also use it in the winter to keep weight on, and all.
