Why is it I/we can only pick odd sized horses????? So, Bo*Berry is 14.2, right, and takes a 4" bit, so, I'm thinking, well, she's got such a fine head, she'll probably take a pony bridle, and an extra hole, to the length, right? WRONG! I need to add another 1" to all 3 straps, and it'd be perfect...this means unless I'm lucky enough to find a ' ( Read more... )

Sounds like a great celebration for BJ! Everyone supports it!

Get one of the bridles that has the excess strap, and cut it if it is nylon, and just heat the edges, that is all they do, it will look like it was made that way. I do that for Chaz, who's small too, and doesn't fit regular or pony stuff...

Yeah, that's what I'm gonna do. the other problem is, though, her little head is so small, I'll have to cut, and re stitch the headstall/browband, too.

What about Cob size stuff? My 15 hand appy has weird sizes and the cob stuff seems to work well for him.

oh, BlackJack is 16.3 and a hair, over 1650, full blooded percheron...but, he's not mature, and hasn't quite grown into full draft sized stuff. He's only jsut got all his height, and is starting to bulk up. He'll be 3 on Monday.
But, a draft's head is shaped differently -something I never believed, til I got one- so, i have to get draft sized bits/bridle, and shorten them -thankgoodness, he still only takes a 7" tree (saddle)....so far.....

I meant the smaller one. *grin* For the big guy, I guess there is always oversized/warmblood stuff. That usually fits the big ones.
