Fandom Influences on Spuffy Love

In the past week, we've all shared a little bit about what drew us to Spuffy.  What some of our favorite moments are on the show and our favorite meta within the fandom.  And in thinking about this connection between the show and the fandom, I was wanting to know if there's a fan creation out there that you hold up as enlightening about Spuffy.

The first thing that popped into my head was molly_may's picspam of proof that Buffy loved Spike in S7 (unfortunately, it's flocked). I mean, I knew that she loved him then, but there's no way to look at the gorgeous and touching pictures she shaped together into a narrative and doubt it. I have this one saved in my memories and it inspires me when I'm writing them. The way she looks at him...there's no doubt.

Awww, I am unbelievably flattered you would pick that! And pleased because it's one of my favorite posts.;) Also, I had no idea it was flocked, so it is now unlocked.

Probably Nauti's "Heart Don't Lie" or "In Heat." There are a ton of stories out there that showed Spuffy in a different light, but those two stick out most in my mind. Probably all of the rereads ;) Basically, those two works just so awesome dynamics between those two, and it's very true to their characters. And totally worth the gander.

I love In Heat. It's one of the first Spuffy fics I ever read back in 2004. *adores*

How do you see these fics presenting them in a different light specifically? Would you mind going on a bit more? :)

Come to think of it, it's one of the first long Spuffy fics I read as well ;)

Basically...in those fics, there are major problems for them and obstacles and a big bad (well, bigger, baby eating one in HDL), but they overcome them. And they do it splendidly in character. I'm more of a fanon Spuffy myself, and those fics are a big reason as to why.

I don't know--they just make me happy, I suppose. That's pretty much the long and short of it.

Sorry that explanation wasn't better--I took a Vicodin about thirty minutes ago, and I think it's kicking in :P

Oh, they have all of the elements of Spuffy that I love--unity, snark, love, stick togetherness, fighting, a dash of angst, and more love.

I love Zugma's artwork. And hey, thanks to her pieces, I was a Spuffy fan before even seeing the show :D

I was linked to her site a couple of years ago for her typography tutorial (which is extremely helpful) - and then got to looking around at her artwork. She has some beautiful Spuffy pieces - and at the time I probably thought something along the lines of "ooh pretty man" and "aww sweet couple".

After watching the series her site was the first place I went to to find myself a Spuffy-related wallpaper for my laptop :D

And as someone who creates graphics, I can only hope to be as good as she is!
