I bought all of the series #1-6 as they came out. Issue #1 was exactly as reviewed. I too expected more but was willing to see where the series went. I didn't care for the next two standalone issues #2/#3 as they simply seemed each a fairy tale story that had been told before. Others in forums indicated they loved these issues. #4 and #5 are where the series picked up steam to me with a two-parter that added much more to the backstory and mythology of the title. However the series went on hiatus after issue #6, which was a different animal altogether focusing on the cat Mystery and the other man (the god/devil type from issue 1).
As a set, one might really enjoy the series or one might feel it is a Sandman style nuked thirty seconds too long in the microwave.
