I seriously disagree here. I thought the first sequence was a nice sampler of strips from throughout the book's history, and the Skull origin was GREAT.
Some of this might have been a case of me hearing so much hype that I was set up for disappointment. Also, the fact that I'm not into video games might have contributed to my opinion.
Still, I found that as webcomics go, Order of the Stick, Kevin & Kell, Squarecat, and The Devil's Panties all made the transition to print a lot better, and none of those had Image's editing/marketing machine behind them.
I'm not into video games either. PVP really isn't about video games, for that matter -- it's a workplace comedy. NewsRadio wasn't really about a radio station and Night Court wasn't really about a courtroom -- it was about the characters there.
