This year, I wasn't sure of what to give up for Lent, if anything at all. March 1 came and went, and I had not thought of what I should give up, partly because I was so busy in preparation for the coffeehouse. So I didn't give up anything ( Read more... )

You could just keep the Lentin' up until Orthodox Easter ;) Orthodox Good Friday is April 21st!

I've been drinking orange juice some mornings to make sure that I get my daily vitamin C intake, but it's just not as good as grapefruit juice. Mmmm.

I'm not sure if it was a typo or if I just read it wrong, but when you wrote that Brandon encouraged you to take up something for lent, I read it as start something new. It's an interesting concept. On the one hand, denying yourself something seems somehow more like the Christian thing to do; however, taking up something would certainly also fulfill the objectives of lent. It could be something as obvious as setting aside a certain time to reflect on God, or it could be as simple as starting to drink grapefruit juice. Everytime you pick up that glass, you'd be reminded of why.

Sundays are feast days! anonymous March 24 2006, 02:34:04 UTC

I know, but I prefer to make the extra effort of keeping the sacrifice on Sundays, too. It makes me rely on God that much more.

Who is this? I have a guess, but I'm not totally sure.
