So about the career path...this could last for hours, so I'll give you the short version lol

I used to be a chemist, but I did IT work on the side. I liked the IT work much more, so I went into it full-time. I ended up in business school, and discovered yet another field (operations) that I liked even more. So by know it all sounds good - finding something you really like to do is an ideal career path.

The trouble is, for the past few years I've had a kind of inclination towards non-profit work. I wouldn't describe it as 'calling', but I do know that I want to end up in a career in which I can directly help people. You could make the argument that many career paths are 'helping' people in an indirect way, but that's not satisfying to me...I want direct intervention. I'm not sure how to fit all of these factors together. In fact, I may have to pick one or the other.
